PSYCHOSOMATIC STRESS IN NON-MEDICAL HEALTH CARE WORKERS

Aim: The aim was to provide a comprehensive view of non-medical health care staff on the psychosomatic strain. The structured Meister questionnaire by the author S. Meister was used to assess the impact of workload.

Methodology: A quantity-oriented survey was used, working with numerical data, thus allowing a deeper understanding of reality in its rationality. Numerical data are mathematically processed via using methods of mathematical statistics. It can be assumed that it is possible to measure staff workload to some extent in this way. To assess the impact of workload, the structured Meister questionnaire by the author S. Meister was used, supplemented with more specific questions for a deeper analysis. The group selection consisted of two respondent groups from health care institutions, and a total of 600 questionnaires were distributed. The questionnaires were identical for both groups for the survey and the subsequent peer review of the results. Only the question of whether the respondents worked in the covid-19 Department was inserted into the questionnaire focused on the period of the epidemic burden.

Results: The results of the thesis present a comprehensive look at the high workload of non-medical health workers. The last two years have been burdened by the resulting epidemic and have affected comprehensive care in healthcare. The initial data obtained was extended by data collection from the time of the pandemic. Collected data enable an analysis of the burden on non-medical medical personnel from before and during the epidemic. We conducted two quantitative surveys with a time lag. The results of the survey indicated that the workload of non-medical health workers was extremely increased, comparing two different periods did not differ significantly. Analysis of individual areas of strain and assessment of the importance of set hypotheses with complex results is presented in the empirical part.

Conclusion: The conclusion of the thesis contains recommendations for practice, which are prepared based on the facts of the exploratory investigation. The data analysis and the results of the survey will be presented in a professional periodical.
