SELECTED APPROACHES OF QUALITY MANAGEMENT IN HEALTH CARE

The aim of the paper is elucidate selected approaches of quality management and to point out the specifics of health service. Under the current challenging and complex situation, top healthcare managers need to respond flexibly to changes in the pandemic of COVID-19. Health services are a mixed collective issue under protection and a non-market one. Quality management has undeniable importance in the provision of health services. It affects patients, employees and thus the overall process of providing health services. Its practical application provides organizations with better performance. Quality health care services mean that they must be provided not only in a timely and effective way but must be available and safe. A quality management system comprises activities by which the organization identifies objectives and determines the processes and resources required to achieve desired results. The introduction of quality management systems leads to reduced costs, increased labor productivity improving the quality of health services.
