ETHICAL APPROACH TO TERMINALLY ILL CHILDREN FROM A CASE STUDY PERSPECTIVE

Background: Terminally ill children represent a specific group of patients in regards to their age and health problems. Nursing care has to be provided on high moral credit.
Aim: The key aim of this article is introduce a case study focusing on ethical approach to terminally ill child according chosen ethical theories.
Method: In this study is presented method of qualitative research - a case study situated to genuine hospital environment with four alternatives for situation solving.
Results: All the facts related to terminally ill child treatment have to be discussed with his parents sensitivly.
Conclusion: The case study has showed the importance an adequate and also opened communication between doctors and parents terminally ill child as the basis for a good quality medical and nursing care.
