Background: Chronic pancreatitis is a debilitating, progressive and incurable disease, leading to an impaired well-being and affecting quality of life.

Aim: To determine the quality of life in patients with chronic pancreatitis. To find out what subjective symptoms are most often perceived by patients, what is their relationship to alcohol before and after the disease and whether they smoke.
Set  and  methods: A quantitative method was used for research purposes, through  the use of a standardized WHOQOL-BREF questionnaire. The research group consisted of 70 respondents from gastroenterological clinics.

Results: Based on statistical processing, it can be stated that the quality of life is reduced in the physical domain, domains of experiencing and social relationships. Within recommended regime measures, respondents consume alcohol and smoke. Patients  do not follow the recommended regimens. Of the subjective symptoms, abdominal pain disturbs the respondents the most.

Conclusion: The  achieved  results  confirm  the  reduced  quality  of  life  of  patients  at the lower limit of the population norm, but the results are not significantly low.

Keywords: quality of life, chronic pancreatitis, WHOQOL-Bref questionnaire
