COMPLIANCE OF PARENTS AND CHILDREN WITH BRONCHIAL ASTHMA DURING OBSERVANCE OF REGIMEN MEASURES
- 1 Ústav ošetřovatelství, Fakulta veřejných politik v Opavě, Slezská univerzita v Opavě
Introduction: Among children bronchial asthma affects the airways and it is characterised by a protracted inflammation of the bronchial wall, of which the inflammation is not infectious. With an early diagnosis and sufficient child and parent compliance the disease prognosis and life quality are satisfying.
Aim: The aim of the research investigation is to map the compliance of parent and child with bronchial asthma during observance of regimen measures.
Methodology: A qualitative research method was chosen for the exploratory survey. To determine the data the semi-structured interview was chosen based on selected topics engaged in this field.
Results: Sufficient compliance requires knowledge of a parent in the care of an asthmatic child. The results of the research method showed a high satisfaction with education, which determines the actual compliance. The research showed that the greatest burden a child has is regular medication. It also showed individual deficiencies and risks of noncompliance occurring rarely in particular situations. The work proved that the main merit of proper cooperation in the treatment regimen is communication between the nurse, doctor, patient and the family member.
Conclusion: Compliance during observance of the regimen measures is an individual patient matter or for his or her family. Each child patient will have different needs and diverse therapy settings. What is beneficial for one child could be harmful for another child. The work results may contribute to a better understanding of living of an asthmatic child and their family.
