Background: It has been found that at least half of patients with a prediction of Parkin- son's disease may have severe non-motor symptoms during the course of the disease, the impact of which on quality of life is not solely due to motor difficulties.
Aim: The aim of the theses is to analyze the impact of non-motoric symptomatology on the Quality of Life by patient´s with Parkinson´s Disease.
Methods: Narrative review studyfrom databases PubMed, DOI, Scopus, Web of Science.
Results: Mood disorders, depression, anxiety, apathy, cognitive changes and somatic perception of pain are the most important predictive factors for the mental component of quality of life. Expectations the patients have from their close social environment are more of an emotional nature such as communication, keeping in touch in times of dis- tress, but also economic distress. Non-motor symptoms are under-reported, as patients may not associate them with Parkinson's disease and can be a source of embarrassment and lower confidence, increasing their social isolation.
Discussion and conclusion: Studies confirm that persons with Parkinson's disease have to cope with physical discomfort, loss of social relationships, financial activities, work and leisure time. The quality assessment also allows the evaluation of the treatment ef- fectiveness or acts as an indicator for the choice of the next possible treatment and nur- sing approach.
